Old Boler Camper vs New Boler Camper
Old Boler Camper deluxe 1700 vs New Boler Camper

The 1978 Boler camper we purchased had been painted over the original model. The model “Deluxe” 1700 came with a colonial white shell and a decorative orange stripe. For the camper’s new look, we were inspired by the Boler B-1300 and the classic Volkswagen bus.

We decided to cover the old Boler logo on the window awning. From 1968 until the mid-1980s, the Boler company adopted different logo styles, but we didn’t particularly like the one painted on the front window awning. We decided to indicate the company’s name by placing it on the camper’s side, next to the door.

The old Boler camper had a spare tire in the back. Since we wanted to have a bike rack attached to the rear bumper, we decided to install the spare tire to the frame of the camper, underneath the shell.

We had to change the exterior baggage access door on the side of the camper because we wanted to lock it to secure our tools and materials. Eric did the fiberglass work needed for the new door before painting the shell.
